Our Getaway .. Montreal

Finally, we had a family vacation. Visited Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa and Toronto in 2 weeks. Tourist visa for Canada is kinda quick :)

Booked via rail train from Toronto to Montreal for 4.5 hours ride, then Montreal to Quebec by Bus for 2 hrs and via rail from Quebec to Ottawa. Lastly, Via rail from Ottawa to Toronto.

First up, Montreal...

I've been to Montreal, so this is my first time. Before we had a car, this time, we used their public transportation. We bought their unlimited day pass, for $10 at the nearest metro station.

And off we go.

Montreal metro line

Our first stop,  Olympic Stadium..nothing much in here, unless you go to museum and aquarium. But we just took our pictures outside the stadium.

Next, St. Joseph Oratory. This is considered to be the world's largest monument to Saint Joseph in North America. So we go up,  with 100 plus stairs, to see this view.

And we also go inside, and explore the chapel and buy some rosary and got us some holy water.

Then off to Old Montreal to have some lunch and walk around.

Next Old Montreal and the Clock tower.

Just enjoy the view while walking and the people too :)

On your way to clock tower, you will also see the Bonsecours Market.

It's kinda a long walk, but we need to after eating :D

After taking pictures, we went back and visit Notre Dame cathedral :)

There's a $7 for entrance fee.

Notre Dame has an amazing neo-Gothic style. And it's really beautiful inside.

Next stop is the Biosphere. There's nothing much in here too, just the big sphere :D

We also went to Saint-Louis Square to take a picture of some colorful houses.

We also found some big real chess outside of the Place des Arts. Where there are actual people playing!

And then time to rest :)

We booked our accommodation though airbnb, which is good too. We have a private room and our own keys. Before booking, just need to read the reviews from other guests if it is worth it :D

We are schedule to leave Montreal at 12pm the next day, so time to rest :D
